Present for a Bride
The Dubliner Magazine – The Best of Dublin 2008
A good present for a bride, a sister, a mum, a work colleague – any lady really.
The lovely Paula Goulding spends about an hour quizzing you on your wardrobe, your makeup routine and your personality before doing a ‘draping session’, where she holds coloured scarves up to your face to see which one suits best. Great fun. Very girly. Then it’s a tone test with her makeup, and – hey presto! – she runs out to calculate the colours that suit you best. You’ll be one of the four seasons – we were Spring, so our major colours are bright green, blue and yellow. (So true – we got lots of compliments the following week.) You get a makeover before you go – a tad ‘clubby’ for our liking, but then we were emerging onto Baggot Street at 4pm on a Tuesday – and a little booklet with instructions on your new palette. Paula also offers Trinny and Suzannah-esque style consultancy (without the insults), wardrobe planning and personal shopping.
